It’s extremely rare that a group or artist crashes the R&B/Soul scene with a magic formula that redefines the pervasive sound or creates a totally new subgenre. In the early 00’s, Marsha Ambrosius’ pen repeatedly crafted brilliance as she became a reliable hit-maker even for the King of Pop Michael Jackson with songs like “Butterflies.”  Coupled with Natalie Stewart, dubbed “The Floacist,” Ambrosius proved to be equally as impressive on vocals as the “The Songstress” to form Floetry.

At the height of the neo-soul movement, Floetry’s exceptional song-writing, sultry vocals, with the addition of spoken word poetry drew anticipation for any project from the duo, but the live performance of “Say Yes” alone became one of the most talked about experiences of 2003.

The energy of the New Orleans audience packed into the House of Blues in the heart of a southern summer, coupled with Ambrosius’ vocal range nearly lifts the roof off of the crowded arena and makes Floacism a top contender among the group’s storied catalog.
