Pulp Fiction
MCA (1994)
Selected by Mike Elliott

Sitting deservedly atop most "best soundtracks of all time" lists, Pulp Fiction is the perfect marriage of dialogue and music during the course of an album. The soundtrack transports you back into the film by setting the same unique tone; tremolo-heavy surf guitar from the incomparable Dick Dale juxtaposed with classics from sources as varied as Al Green and the Statler Brothers combine to underscore the film's sense of humor and irreverence, as well as its acceptance of violence and dishonor among thieves.
