Kylie Minogue has released her sixteenth studio album Tension—one of our most highly anticipated albums of 2023—courtesy of the BMG label and her own imprint Darenote. Preceded by the heartbeat inspired lead single “Padam Padam” and the title track “Tension,” the eleven-track Tension is accompanied by an expanded fourteen-track deluxe edition.

“I started this album with an open mind and a blank page,” Minogue says of the follow-up to DISCO (2020) in an official statement. “Unlike my last two albums, there wasn’t a ‘theme’, it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song. I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”
