“I really think this is quite a magical game and I feel really lucky to still be doing it,” Katie Melua confessed when discussing the process of making records during our interview with her back in 2020, in conjunction with the release of her eighth studio album, appropriately titled Album No. 8. Resisting the temptation to call her forthcoming project Album No. 9, Melua’s ninth LP Love & Money is preceded by lead singles “Quiet Moves,” “Golden Record” and “Those Sweet Days,” and she has also announced a European tour that commences April 11th in Warsaw, Poland and concludes May 20th in Manchester, UK.

“It still blows my mind that I get to do this, to make records with brilliant musicians, songwriters and the best team in the music industry,” Melua shares via an official statement. “And now I get to share it with my baby boy. I mention him because this is the first album which was made where emotionally I married my home life with work, I wanted to celebrate these beautful years, of meeting his dad, of creating great memories with my parents and brother, because COVID basically forced us to. It was a gamble, not to work late into the night and on the weekends.”
