To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Saint Etienne’s beloved third studio album Tiger Bay (1994), the trio have revealed plans for a thoughtfully curated box set. Its title inspired by the 1959 British crime drama film of the same name, Tiger Bay was a commercial and critical success due in part to its memorable singles “Pale Movie,” “Like a Motorway” and “Hug My Soul.”
Due in stores May 17th and available for pre-order this Tuesday, April 30th, the package’s highlights include a 2xLP 45rpm vinyl version of the original album, a 12-track rarities & demos vinyl collection Tiger Bay – Remains of The Day, and a 13-track CD compilation of previously unreleased stripped-back versions and arrangements of the album entitled Tapestry, a sampling of which appears below for your listening pleasure.
Other components include a 28-page booklet featuring rare images and reflections about the album’s genesis, a 12" x 24" reproduction of the original album poster, a reproduction Hug My Soul window sticker and a reproduction of the original press release and biography that accompanied the album’s release.
Make room on your shelves for this treasure trove of a deluxe package and reserve yours here beginning this Tuesday, April 30th. Fans who pre-order the set by May 6th will also receive the Surrey North EP at no additional charge. And for our UK friends, be sure to catch Bob, Pete & Sarah when they perform the album live in select locales later this year.
