It is with tremendous pleasure that we announce that Terry Nelson has joined the Albumism team as our newest contributor. Terry’s passionate devotion to music, as well as his vast knowledge across genres, styles and time periods, could not be a more natural fit for Albumism. We look forward to Terry’s contributions and insights in the future, and encourage the Albumism community to check out his great work, including his debut article, a thoughtful tribute to Marvin Gaye’s classic album I Want You, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this week.
More about Terry:
Terry Nelson is the wearer of many hats. He is the founder and Executive Director of the Beacon Independent Film Festival in Beacon, NY, a voiceover actor, and host of the podcast Mixtape Beacon. Growing up in NYC in the late 70's and early 80's, Terry was fortunate enough to witness the birth of hip-hop, see shows at the legendary CBGB's, and stay awake long enough to witness a Grace Jones performance at Bonds International Casino. He also was one of the last Rock LP buyers at Tower Records Lincoln Center. His love for music crosses many genres and decades. He insists that What's Going On and London Calling are the most important records made since 1970. Follow Terry on Twitter via @BeaconBull.
