NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: The Good, The Bad & The Queen’s “Merrie Land”

October 27, 2018 Albumism Staff

Artist: The Good, The Bad & The Queen
Song: “Merrie Land”
Album: Merrie Land (due in stores November 16th)

Where in the world have the last eleven years gone? Eleven. That’s how many years have passed since The Good, The Bad & The Queen—the understated yet uber-talented supergroup comprised of Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz), Paul Simonon (The Clash), Simon Tong (The Verve, Erland & The Carnival) and the acclaimed Afrobeat percussionist Tony Allen—released their excellent eponymous debut album.

Thankfully, and as affirmation of the old adage that suggests good things come to those who wait, the band has reconvened to record their long-awaited follow-up effort Merrie Land, due in stores next month on November 16th. Watch the video for the lead single and title track below, and get ready to experience what is sure to be a late-entry contender for album of the year.
