Two years on from the release of her acclaimed album I Don’t Know What I’m Doing (2022), Nerina Pallot has announced the forthcoming arrival of her eighth studio album A Psalm for Emily Salvi on November 1st. Inspired by the candid and confessional correspondence Pallot has had with a woman over the past few years and the self-reflection this engagement has inspired in her, A Psalm for Emily Salvi is preceded by the introspective yet buoyantly and soulfully melodic lead single “Regrets.”

“I made this album for myself and for Emily Salvi (not her actual name)—whoever she may truly be,” Pallot explains in an official statement. “And for all the Emily Salvis out there, who need a reminder that they're not alone. This album is for them."

In support of the album’s release, Pallot is set to perform an intimate one-woman show entitled I Digress at London’s Marylebone Theatre on December 2nd and 9th, followed by a UK tour in February of next year.

A Psalm for Emily Salvi is available to pre-order via Pallot’s official store here.

After early career success like Peniston’s, many artists would rather sell their souls than chance to change the formula, even if they have to create work they don’t love. Peniston refused.
