NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Melody Gardot’s “From Paris With Love”

Consummate class act Melody Gardot has unveiled her new single “From Paris With Love,” possessed of the grace and grandeur that we’ve come to expect from the singer-songwriter-instrumentalist throughout her sterling recording career to date.

The culmination of a fan-driven campaign orchestrated by Gardot, the song features contributions from an ensemble of string and woodwind musicians from across the globe, while the accompanying video captures snapshots of people worldwide, all united by their current confinement and humanity. Gardot and Decca Records have partnered to allocate all royalties from the single—her first recording since her fourth studio album Currency of Man (2015) arrived five years ago—to a COVID-related charity that supports our indispensable healthcare workers.

“In times of great difficulty, art will always break through,” Gardot explains in an official statement. “Created in isolation, made with love, this project is a reflection of the strength of the human spirit. My most heartfelt thanks to the vast array of musicians and people currently confined all around the world, who made this project possible.”
