NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Maggie Rogers’ “Fallingwater”

Artist: Maggie Rogers
Song: “Fallingwater”
Upcoming Tour: Dates

Her star still firmly in the ascendant, Maggie Rogers has unveiled her latest single “Fallingwater,” the first new music we’ve heard from her since she released “Split Stones” this past September. Her major-label debut EP Now That the Light Is Fading emerged courtesy of Capitol Records earlier last year, and we can only hope that the arrival of “Fallingwater”—co-produced by Rogers and Rostam Batmanglij (formerly of Vampire Weekend)—signals that a proper full-length project is on the not-too-distant horizon.

“’Fallingwater’ is about these past two years, this giant transition and ride that I’ve been on,” Rogers explains via Twitter. “It’s a song that celebrates rapid change and how simultaneously scary and electric it can feel. It’s about giving everything and not knowing if it’s enough. It’s about the power of vulnerability—a cry for help and a battle cry at the same time.”
