Kylie Minogue recently revealed plans to release her sixteenth studio album Tension—one of our most highly anticipated albums of 2023—on September 22nd courtesy of the BMG label. And today, she has shared the project’s heartbeat inspired, Lostboy produced lead single “Padam Padam.”

“I started this album with an open mind and a blank page,” Minogue says of the follow-up to DISCO (2020) in an official statement. “Unlike my last two albums, there wasn’t a ‘theme’, it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song. I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”

Sold. September 22nd can’t come soon enough.
