Set to expand her already impressively consistent discography dating back to her 2003 debut LP Call Off The Search, Katie Melua has announced that her eighth studio album—her first since 2016’s In Winter—will make landfall October 16th. Titled Album No. 8, the 10-track affair’s symphonic first offering “A Love Like That”—which conjures Minnie Riperton’s Charles Stepney orchestrated classic 1970 single “Les Fleurs”—reinforces Melua’s proven penchant for crafting songs infused with romance and grace, all adorned by her crystalline voice.

“What began as a song about my relationship with creating and the music industry became a song about the complexities of real-life love and its fairytale counterpart,” Melua explains in a recent Facebook post. “‘A Love Like That’ continues a narrative that is across the new album,” she adds in an official statement. “And in the context of love, it is about having the courage to speak openly and freely.”
