Five years on from the release of her acclaimed third studio album Quiet Signs (2019), Jessica Pratt has announced that her new album Here in the Pitch is set to arrive May 3rd courtesy of the Mexican Summer imprint. Her fourth studio affair is preceded by the enveloping lead single “Life Is,” which Pratt refers to as “kind of a false flag” hinting at a presumed sonic pivot relative to her previous arrangements. “I also feel like it’s a statement of intention,” she says of the single.

“I became obsessed with figures emblematic of the dark side of the Californian dream while making this record,” Pratt explains about the inspiration behind the album, which was recorded at Gary’s Electric Studio in Brooklyn over the course of three years. “I never wanted it to take this long. I’m just a real perfectionist,” she confides. “I was just trying to get the right feeling, and it takes a long time to do that.”

To support Here in the Pitch’s release, Pratt will perform a series of spring and summer dates across Europe, the UK and the US, her tour commencing May 30th at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound festival and concluding July 27th in Cambridge, MA.
