NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Disclosure’s “Ecstasy”

Paging all Albumism readers…your presence is requested on the dance floor. And Disclosure’s euphoric, Gloria Jones indebted new track “Ecstasy” will be your soundtrack.

Yes indeed, the Brothers Lawrence have smacked us upside the head yet again with another sublime stunner of a song, which augurs more sonic greatness to come on their as-yet-unannounced third studio album. Although the UK duo’s most recent long player Caracal (2015) is nearly five years young now, Guy and Howard Lawrence have remained plenty busy with the release of 2018’s Moonlight EP and, most recently, blessing Khalid with their production prowess on the single “Know Your Worth,” unveiled earlier this month.

“This song came into existence in early 2019 during a writing session at Guy’s house in London,” the brothers revealed in an official statement. “We were curiously chopping up samples from various ‘70s disco and soul records when suddenly, ‘Fantasy’ by Aquarian Dream (featuring Gloria Jones on lead vocals) gave us the exact thing we were searching for. This song is made entirely to get a human being to their feet and directly to the dance floor.”

We suspect that Disclosure’s forthcoming third LP will serve the same purpose. In the meantime, indulge in “Ecstasy” below.
