Artist: Bright Light Bright Light
Song: “Uh Huh!”
EP: Tough Love (due in stores September 21st)

For those who have not been paying attention, Bright Light Bright Light (born Rod Thomas) has been a busy man. Since the release of his critically acclaimed third album Choreography (2016), the singer-songwriter-musician has released several EPs, a live album and toured with the iconic synth-pop pair Erasure. Slated for a September 21st release, his Tough Love EP is another abbreviated song cycle full of wit and style from one of pop music’s best kept secrets.

Written and produced by Thomas, Tough Love is comprised of seven tracks including two remixes and five new compositions in the form of the title track, “How I Feel,” “One,” “Anybody Else” and “Uh Huh!” A punchy burst of mid ‘80s pop nostalgia pulled forward into a modern-day setting, the latter is the third single to be unveiled from Tough Love, following the previously released “How I Feel” and “Tough Love.” This sonic print has become something of a calling card for Bright Light Bright Light.

Tough Love will be available is variety of formats—digitally and physically—and is sure to excite audiences chomping at the bit for a new full-length long player from Thomas. And while a follow-up to Choreography may not be in the cards just yet, Tough Love promises to be a great stopgap to pass the time while we all wait.
