The Darjeeling Limited
ABKCO (2007)
Selected by Justin Chadwick

Music always plays an integral role within Wes Anderson’s films and The Darjeeling Limited is a fine case in point (as is the other entry that appears later in this list). Primarily comprised of retro compositions appropriated from classic Indian cinema that provide the perfect soundscapes for the fraternal trio’s train journey across India, the soundtrack also features a solid three-song dose of The Kinks and Peter Sarstedt’s endearing “Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)?” which features prominently in the accompanying short-film prologue Hotel Chevalier that stars Natalie Portman and Jason Schwartzman.
