Juno
Rhino (2007)
Selected by Andy Healy

Juno was the little movie that could. Understated, sweet and authentic. So it was fitting that the soundtrack also shied away from bombast and plays like a cool spring day. The mix of songs, and some reworkings, play like joyful little lullabies. There’s a beautiful shimmer on the collection of songs that ties together so effortlessly, you just flow with it from the first track to the last. Highlights include Sonic Youth’s dreamy take on the Carpenters’ classic “Superstar,” Cat Power’s take on “Sea of Love,” and the sweetness of “Anyone Else But You” by The Moldy Peaches.
